SRK cool about being Aamir’s dog’s namesake

Visit Aamir Khan’s blog here

After Amitabh Bachchan’s blog created a controversy with his remarks against veteran actor and BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha, Aamir Khan’s latest post talks about his pet dog ‘Shah Rukh’ at his home in Panchgani.

Aamir however claimed he had nothing to do with the naming of the dog. He said Shah Rukh was shooting a commercial in the Panchgani house, a few years ago, and on the very day, the caretakers bought a pup and named him after Shah Rukh. When his reaction was sought Shah Rukh, the actor, said he was not bothered and was taking it in the spirit.

“I have never bothered about it because I too say a lot of things in fun. I don’t get stressed when friends pass comments like this,” Shah Rukh said.

Aamir had wrote in his blog “Shah Rukh is licking my feet and I am feeding him biscuits every now and then. What more I can ask for?”

He ends the entry saying: “He is smelling too much. I think he needs a bath. Heel Boy, heel.”

Google testing Sun’s OpenSolaris

It may be looking to replace Linux in its data center

September 20, 2006 (Computerworld) — Google Inc. is experimenting with the open-source version of Sun Microsystems Inc.’s Solaris operating system as a possible long-term prelude to replacing its massive global network of Linux servers, according to sources.

With dozens of data centers worldwide estimated to house hundreds of thousands of Intel servers supporting its flagship search engine, a Google move to OpenSolaris would be another of several recent votes of confidence for the platform.

Propelled by the release of Solaris’ source code 15 months ago as well as new Advanced Micro Devices-based servers from Sun that run it, the nearly 2-decade-old operating system is experiencing something of a midlife resurgence. More than 5 million users have registered to use Solaris 10 since its release in January 2005, a figure that includes those paying Sun for support and those using it for free.

Copying the teacher

Well guys this one is a great contribution to my blog from my Mother…..
Mom, I love you a lot

A disciple who loved and admired his teacher decided to observe his behaviour minutely, believing that if he did everything that his teacher did, then he would also acquire his teacher’s wisdom.

The teacher always wore white, and so his disciple did the same.

The teacher was a vegetarian, and so his disciple stopped eating meat and replaced it with a diet of vegetables and herbs.

The teacher was an austere man, and so the disciple decided to devote himself to self-sacrifice and started sleeping on a straw mattress.

After some time, the teacher noticed these changes in his disciple’s behaviour and asked him why.

‘I am climbing the steps of initiation,’ came the reply. ‘The white of my clothes shows the simplicity of my search, the vegetarian food purifies my body, and the lack of comfort makes me think only of spiritual things.’

Smiling, the teacher took him to a field where a horse was grazing.

‘You have spent all this time looking outside yourself, which is what matters least,’ he said. ‘Do you see that creature there? He has white skin, eats only grass and sleeps in a stable on a straw bed. Do you think he has the face of a saint or will one day become a real teacher?’
